When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?“
“I launched the brand officially on the 6th April 2017. Perky Pear was created because current breast lift tape on the market just didn’t do the job especially for larger breasts. As an E cup myself I struggled to find anything that allowed me to go braless in deep plunge and backless styles, I came across a material by chance and started to design perky pear lifts and found that it worked really well in lifting, holding and shaping small breasts and heavy breasts for a long period of time. I got working on the design which is exclusively owned by perky pear ltd and so Perky Pear breast lift and shape tape was born”
What’s your background?“
I studied advertising design at the university of Salford and left with a 1st class degree. I then went on to work at a digital creative marketing agency in Manchester and then onto working for a gaming company creating their online and print advertising materials as a graphic designer. My background in graphic design and marketing has meant that I am able to create my own content for my company which has been my best work yet”
Where is your company based and has it influenced the brand?
“We are based in Greater Manchester. Manchester is full of amazing fashion brands and home to many leading retailers such as pretty little thing, boohoo and misguided. Having a fashion forward city on our doorstep has definitely inspired us to be a part of the fashion scene and offer a product which goes hand in hand with many different styles that retailers sell, allowing women to dare to wear styles they may never have before.”
To date, what has been the highlight since launching?
“There has been so many highlights since launching, it has been a bit of a whirlwind! Our main highlight so far has been meeting with global fashion retailer, Pretty Little Thing.com just two weeks after launching the business and securing them as one of our first UK stockists. We have also been hand selected by Cosmopolitan magazine to feature in their SS 17 edit so our products will be featuring for the next 3 months.”
The print magazine will be in stores on news stands at Harrods, Selfridges, WHSmith and other high end boutiques across the UK
